Made from oil water, glycerol, and gelatin, Billo has become the first ever biodegradable balloon brand on the market. Unlike standard latex that may never fully degrade, this formula allows for the balloons to break down in just three to five months, preventing microplastic contamination and pollution. The obstacle

Between 2016 and 2018, more than 18,000 balloon pieces were picked up along the Great Lakes shores alone. This type of pollution is detrimental to marine life, and also pollutes our air and water with microplastics, which have been proven to cause tremendous harm to our overall health. 


The Solution

Billo aims to reduce the amount of pollution that ends up in our air, waterways, and beaches by using a formula that is only comprised of naturally occurring biodegradable ingredients. This ensures the safety of marine life that may come in contact with these discarded balloons, while also minimizing human exposure to toxic microplastics.

“Saying Goodbye”

This ad campaign light heartedly says “goodbye” to the standard latex balloons that are causing pounds of pollution per year. Each ad works to tie in a unique benefit of the brand, such as its safe and all natural material, reduced pollution, and its ability to be filled without the use of helium tanks.
