Almost everyone can remember the satisfying sensation of fresh cut grass beneath their feet during the summer months of their childhood. Bonded details the rich history and science behind this phenomenon known as Earthing - the discovery that Earth’s natural electric charge reduces inflammation, pain, and stress through direct contact. Located in the heart of New York City, Bonded brings the nurturing power of nature back to the concrete jungle that has become the Big Apple.

The obstacle

In our modern day world, we are connecting with the Earth’s floor less than ever before. High rise buildings and rubber soled shoes are just some of the many ways we are blocked from the Earth’s natural charge, which our bodies need to govern the operation of our brain, heart, muscles, blood, and other vital organs.

The Solution

Bonded takes its visitors through the origins and science behind Earthing. The exhibition concludes with an experiential component for patrons to engage in the practice itself, accompanied by a digital app that guides them through the experience. Whether in sand or grass, Bonded will keep you grounded and bring you back to balance.

“The Electricity of the Earth”

This ad campaign creates ties between familiar scientific terminology like “current” and “recharge” with the variety of health benefits of Earthing, like rest and rejuvination, in order to demonstrate the positive correlation between connecting with the Earth’s natural charge and improved health. The imagery used serves to showcase the different ways that people can practice Earthing - from grass surfaces to bodies of water, the world is waiting for you to find your way back home.
